Battery Indicators ================== Each battery shows the name of the car related event you are monitoring and how many months (30-day periods) are left until the event arrives. Soritng Events ============== Press the Scroll Down button to sort the events. Press the Scroll Down button again to go back. This allows you to list the events according to their importance in the CBat file and then allows you to sort them according to the months left for each event. CBat File Format ================ The CBat file is used to specify the event names and dates you want to monitor. 1. The first line in the CBat file must be the word: CBat. 2. The second line is the date you bought your car or the date you want to start monitoring the events. 3. The third line is the name of the first event. 4. The fourth line is the number of months the first event will occure and repeat. For example, if you need to change your motor oil every six months, the the third and fourth lines should be: Oil Change 6 Note: You can also keep track of these events by mileage. a. First, you need to find out roughly how many miles do you drive each year. For example: 20,000 miles per year. b. Take this number and divide it by 12 to get the miles you drive each month. For example: 20,000/12 = 1,667 miles each month. c. Take the event interval in miles and divide it by the number from step b. For example, you want to change oil every 5,000 miles. 5,000/1667 = 3 months. d. Enter the following in CBat file: Oil Change 3 5. The fifth line is the name of the second event. 6. The sixth line is the number of months the second event will occure and repeat. The 7th to 18th lines specify the name and months for the remaining 6 events.
